This new habit has left the vunerable members of the population without the things they need. In Connecticut Coronavirus has led Governer Ned Lamont to mandate that malls and other areas where large crowds can gather temporarilly close.

JRN 255 Audio Assignment

For this assignment I interviewed students about the upcoming Presidential election to see if they would be voting as well as their thoughts on the Presidential race itself.

This November will be one of the most important months of the year. This is because that is when our next President will be chosen.

It will be Central Connecticut State University student Megan Clabby’s first time voting. She was not old enough to vote in the last Presidential election. Clabby is registered as an Independent. Her reason as to why she chose that party is simple

“I didn’t want to choose a specific party because I don’t exactly know much about either,” she said. “I want [to do] more research on both parties before I can affiliate myself with one.”

Clabby says this upcoming election will matter more than the 2016 election because of how divided the nation has become in the last four years.

Ayesha Choudhery, another CCSU student is also registered as an Independent. However, she plans on voting Democratic. She says Pete Buttigieg has the best chance in facing off against President Trump.

“I think that he is well educated, he has experience, he knows how to talk,” she said. “I do believe we need to get this President off because he’s just such a traditionalist and he’s rude and he’s arrogant and ignorant as well.”

255 Video Assignment

The Coronavirus pandemic has affected job security across the country. Some people are now working from home, some are unemployed. Others are taking an unexpected vacation. The latter is known by Leila Cancellieri all too well. She is now a stay-at-home mom and teacher to her son Matteo. Previously she was working as an assistant librarian at the Ethel Walker boarding school in Simsbury, Connecticut. A couple months ago Cancellieri was reading through review journals. Now she is trying to understand her son’s curriculum. The coronavirus has created more than just a learning curve. It has created a new experience for everyone.

The event shown in the photos below was Central Connecticut State University’s Devil’s Den @ 10pm. This is a non-alcoholic initiative the school runs for its students. The type of event and who hosts it changes every week. This specific event was called “The Durag Social” and was put on by Central’s Black Student Union. The event featured many games including a game of Kahoot, a game called “Tie It Up” where audience members would see who could tie a durag the best under the time constraint and a game of Pictionary was played. The winners of  these games were given prizes.
